Work with the Site General Manager to deliver value through the implementation, maturity development and sustainability of the site OPEX model.
Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Develop and maintain a 3-to-5-year site vision in line with the business strategy and in partnership with the site GM
- Co-own the Implementation and the sustainability of the site OPEX Model alongside the Site General Manager.
- Partner with all site function leads to align their function maturity development guided by the OPEX Pillar books and standards.
- Lead site maturity assessments to identify gaps against Leadership, People, Excellent Results, Standard Work & Problem Solving to support site continuous improvement. Facilitate the creation of improvement plans to improve implementation maturity.
- Role model High Performing Team values and behaviours.
- Stand in for the GM as required.
People
- Create an Individual Development Plans for yourself and your team.
- Train, support, coach and challenge all levels on site to drive a continuous improvement / excellence mindset for every team member.
- Define, map and support delivery of a site culture development plan in line with OPEX Principles and Business Values.
- Ensure that priority training is planned and tracked across the site.
- Provide ongoing feedback to the GM and to all levels of the site and act as a catalyst for positive change
- Help people to become the best that they can be.
Excellent results
- Identify, embrace, track, report and drive delivery of Gap Up opportunities on site.
- Ensure that 8 step thinking is applied to all agreed Gap Up activities.
- Proactively work with the site team to use the right OPEX tools to close Gaps and improve processes and results.
- Develop the site Standard Work to a point where Gap Down is not a risk on site.
- Ensure that site objectives are cascaded through my Success and 1:1s to all level of the organisation in line with the business goals.
- Identify any barriers or obstacles which may be hindering performance improvement in each function and implement measures to remove these.
Standard Work and Problem Solving
- Implement and report performance measures across the site making them visible to all team members,
- Build formal problem solving capability across the site using standard OPEX tools. Supports decisions with facts and data.
- Ensure that standard work is documented and trained out across the site.
- Maintain a rolling 12-month Site Master Schedule of all major planned projects and improvements on site.
- Use OPEX tools to ensure that systems are properly connected, are robust and are fit for purpose.
- Assess site meetings, team member roles & responsibilities, strategy / goal deployment and the site management system to ensure they meet the standard expected
Essential Criteria:
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Track record of creating a strong culture of involvement and influence with people through empowerment and coaching
- Able to promote ownership and accountability at all levels of the organisation.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in Lean Manufacture / Continuous Improvement (important but not essential)
- Experience in a FMCG Industry
- Dynamic, focussed and has a relentless aptitude for problem solving.
- Ability to handle conflict in a positive manner, resilient and calm under pressure
